Ex- MLC Dr. Shehnaz Ganai has urged upon the district administration to constitute the monitoring teams and send them to on spot to assess the difficulties and loss of properties of general public, occurred due to the recent inclement weather conditions in far flung areas of Haveli Constituency of Poonch district. She uttered that the administration must be fully prepared well before all such happening as it has many mediums to reach out to the general public while the public has no resources to reach up to the administration during such an emergency. She said that in order to overcome such like problems, the administration should convene all departments meeting soon after the issuance of advisory from Meteorology department. She was briefing this to the media after a public deputation comprises upon the people of different villages of Haveli constituency met her at her residence in Poonch the other day. The public told her that due to delinking of the routes they are facing many hardships like non availability of kerosene, ration, LPG cylinders, power and safe drinking water supply. She come out with the plea that first of all the routes should be cleared so that the general public could carry their essential commodities to their respective homes. It is worth mentioning that many panchs and sarpanchs especially women representatives were part of this deputation who appealed the former MLC to intervene and get their issues solved at its earliest. The panchayat members also hope that very soon the administration will authorize them to redress the problems and the development of their panchayats at their own level. Dr. Shehnaz assure the panchayat members that she will definitely take these issues with the administration and also with the State higher authorities. She thanked the deputation especially the women brigade who inspite of very cold weather conditions came to Poonch for getting their issues solved and this is just one glimpse of the women empowerment she added.
